In the image space rendering, the visibility integration computation is unable to be performed in real time, and the illumination variance caused by the diffuse light change of area light sources is also unable to be expressed. To tackle the problems,a new image space area lighting algorithm is proposed using adaptive space voxelization.According to the depth distribution, the algorithm adaptively partitions the scene to non-uniform voxels, and constructs the depth and normal variance stored in mipmap.By using the information, the algorithm can be applied to interactively compute the visibility integration and illumination approximation for every shading point.
