The traditional WIMP-based design of table-form cannot meet the users'requirements of interface with the natural, efficient and continuous interaction. In particular, neither can the users draw arbitrarily and outline the general table-forms according to their intents, nor can the table-form interface logic be automatically identified. In this paper, a design method on a pen-based table-form component (PBTF) is proposed. It replaces the mouse keyboard with digital pen, with continuous handwriting recognized as character, and sketches recognized as formal table-form or lines, and manipulating interface objects with pen gesture. Moreover, the logic Structure of table-form can be automatically recognized. This paper discusses the development framework of PBTF, its key technologies and its architecture, and gives examples of the application and its performance evaluation. The experimental results show that the method has higher efficiency and customer satisfaction.
