English AbstractHand-based interactions are dominant in the HCI field today. However, in the daily life, people can often encounter such situations in which it is not convenient or optimal to interact with computers by using their hands. In this case, an alternative interaction method for hands is required. In this paper, we present the Foot Menu, a new technique which uses heel rotation information to perform selection tasks. As a hands-free technique, the Foot Menu is applicable in hands-busy situations, and users with hand impairment also can benefit from it. © 2011 IEEE.
