English AbstractThe exploration and visualization of large volumetric medical datasets from high-resolution computed tomography (CT) and medical resonance imaging (MRI) medical images are slow in rendering speed because of the large amount of data. Distance-based methods can address such issues, based on GPU volume raycasting and the idea of focus + context. © 1999-2011 IEEE.
