English AbstractDependability, as a basic problem in computer security is being widely studied, but little work is based on PEPA. In this paper, PEPA are used to model and quantify the dependability of systems. First, backup systems and reparable systems are formally modeled. Then dependability is quantified using PEPA. The result indicates that PEPA can be used to effectively quantify the dependability of systems. © 2012 Springer-Verlag GmbH.; Dependability, as a basic problem in computer security is being widely studied, but little work is based on PEPA.
